The New Ford Ranger is on its way to say Hi to Americans. The company introduced a new one in 2012 all over the world but decided to sell full-size pickups in America. No doubt, the Ford F-150 full-size pickup truck is the best-selling pickup in the U.S. The midsize pickup truck segment is experiencing a nice comeback. The market includes vehicles from Chevrolet Colorado, Honda Ridgeline, and Toyota. But there’s one more in the list of 2019, and it is the Ford Ranger. The new model offers a choice of two body configurations to the buyer. Firstly, a SuperCab one with a 6.0-foot bed. Secondly, SuperCrew with a bed size of 5.0-foot.
Moreover, there are three trim levels: XL, XLT, and Lariat. The base rear-wheel-drive XL SuperCab begins at $25,395. Whereas, a four-wheel drive Lariat SuperCrew tops $45,000. The in-hand delivery of pick-ups will begin in January. Similar to F-150, one can order six or seven gazillion configurations. In addition to all the three trim levels, it will be equipped with a powerful 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Besides, the new model will have 10-speed automatic gear transmission. Therefore, no manual gearbox is available in the cabin. The new transmission comes from the full-size F-150. As a result, it is a top-quality fuel-saving vehicle. Two-wheel-drive Ranger offers 21 miles per gallon at city streets, and 26 mpg highway running. It rates 23 mpg in combined travel. On the other hand, four-wheel drive pulls down those values to 20, 24, and 22 respectively.
Brian Bell, Ranger marketing manager, said the truck is based off the international Ranger platform. He also said that it is uniquely designed for the North U.S. market. The new model includes a unique frame and suspension setup. Although, the powertrain is specifically designed for the North American market. The Ranger has a maximum payload capacity of 1,860 in four doors. Whereas, the cramped back seats are comfortable only in short journeys. According to Ford, the 5.0 and 6.0-foot boxes will fit 43.3 cubic feet and 51.8 cubic feet of stuff. Last but not least, the 2019 Ranger Ford has Sync 3 infotainment system. Additionally, it is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto. It also has a single USB port and an inbuilt Wi-Fi hotspot.
